The study program is focused on advanced design methods for automation and instrumentation engineering and theirs use in industrial systems.
The program splits into two specializations:
- Automation and industrial informatics
- Instrumentation technology
The common part of the study program is focusing on theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of design and implementation of industrial systems. It includes system monitoring with sensors, advanced control algorithms and methods such as artificial inteligence.
The study also includes classes focused on instrument design, including special technological procedures and instrument construction. Combined with other classes focused on rapid hardware and software pototyping, sensor systems or microprocessor programming, the education gives potential to gain complex knowledge in the field of industrial automation and Industry 4.0.
Automation and Industrial Informatics
In this specialiation more focus is given to industrial informatics. You will learn object oriented programming, database and knowledge systems and theirs applications in the area of industrial automation. You will also learn about communication interfaces, signal processing and human-machine interfaces. Optimization methods in predictive control for complex systems is included as well.
Instrumentation Technology
This specialization is more construction oriented. You will learn how to design unique instruments, with focus on theirs functionality and also production with respect to technological possibilities. The classes include mechanical and opto-mechanical designs, wave optics or nanotechnology and theirs use in instrument construction.
